Bassem R. Mahafza, Ph.D. // FounderDr. Bassem R. Mahafza founded Phased n Research, LLC in 2018 with a focused vision: bring together exceptional radar engineers and scientists in an agile technical organization dedicated to solving the nation’s most difficult radar and sensor challenges.
For decades, Dr. Mahafza has helped shape how radar engineers learn, model, analyze, and design advanced systems. His widely used books—including Radar Systems Analysis and Design Using MATLAB, Introduction to Radar Analysis, MATLAB Simulations for Radar Systems Design, and Radar Signal Analysis and Processing Using MATLAB—have become important references for engineers, researchers, students, and defense professionals around the world.
He built Phased n Research around that same principle: combine deep radar theory with real-world engineering experience and give technical experts the freedom to innovate. That vision has grown into a nationally recognized powerhouse for radar engineering, modeling and simulation, signal processing, electronic warfare, algorithm development, and advanced sensor technologies supporting critical national defense missions.
